Wahid Ryland founded Get AI Cited to answer a question most companies could not: when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews or Grok for a recommendation, which companies does it name, and why?

Background

Before Get AI Cited, Wahid spent more than 10 years at an international bank, working across finance, investments and short-term insurance. It is why the first categories Get AI Cited measured were the ones he knows from the inside: payments, insurance, wealth management, lending and fund administration.

Most claims about “ranking in ChatGPT” could not be checked, so he built a measurement that could, and published how it works.

What he built

• The Cited Score. A weekly measurement of how often six AI engines name a company and cite its website, with the method, weights and every change published. The methodology.
• Public category leaderboards. Dated snapshots of who AI engines recommend in payments, insurance, wealth management, lending and fund administration. An example.
• First-party research. Including the finding that ChatGPT shares only 12–29% of its cited sources with each other engine, and that Claude answered 5 of 11 payments questions from memory without searching. Citation overlap · Claude from memory.
