Questions
What is AI readiness?
Whether AI answer engines can technically reach, read and understand your website. It's the foundation: an engine can't cite a page its crawler was blocked from, or a page that is empty without JavaScript. It doesn't measure whether engines actually recommend you — that's what the Cited Score measures.
Which AI crawlers should I allow?
To be cited in answers, allow the crawlers that fetch pages for answers: OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User (OpenAI), PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User (Anthropic), Googlebot and Bingbot. Training crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, CCBot…) affect what models know about you without searching; blocking them is a legitimate business choice, with that trade-off.
Does llms.txt help?
It's a proposed standard and cheap to add, but no major AI engine has confirmed it reads the file, so this checker gives it very little weight.
Does this check store my data?
We fetch the public pages any crawler can see: robots.txt, your homepage, your sitemap and llms.txt. We keep results in memory for 15 minutes and don't store the domain unless you ask for an audit.
